The Supper Club's First Bite at Setai Fifth Avenue: Chef Michael White, Ai Fiori Style

Tamsin Lonsdale's coveted invite to sample acclaimed chef Michael White's latest gem Ai Fiori was ultimate January frosting. . .

The Supper Club's special guests spiraled the dramatic, sweeping staircase at the new Setai Fifth Avenue where the restaurant is privately nestled.

Mark Langrish, Dara Levine, Marcello Tallarigo, Mona Assemi, Eben Freeman and The Altamarea Group hosted the elegant evening. . . exceptional cocktails crafted by master mixologist Freeman and samplings from the exquisite, European Riviera cuisine made it an evening to remember. We caught up with Dennis Wong, newly appointed as Director of Public Relations and Marketing for Pink TARTAN, Kimberley Newport-Mimran's womenswear line -  we talked shitzus and style, and are excited for the 2011 fall collection to be held on Friday, February 11th!

Basking in Ai Fiori's Mediterranean Ambience
Citigroup's Head of Fashion, Retail and Consumer Group Ida Liu was best dressed as always in a killer Tom Ford for Yves St. Laurent pinstriped suit and Bottega Veneta  handbag. Have mercy. On her recommendation (she is the quintessential tastemaker) we stayed for dinner and were seated in the elegant main dining room.

Beyond the food - the truffles! the risotto! the dover sole! the wine list! the chocolate torte! - we still could not get past the service.

It is immaculate.

Chef Michael White's cuisine is as good as it has ever been, but it has been a long time since service in this town has come as close to what we experienced at Ai Fiori. Our server 'Tashi' was an absolute delight (with an impressive knowledge of the menu and the wine list). Even when she slipped into the kitchen, the slightest, imperceptible nod had a discreet, but watchful member of the staff at our table, happy to oblige any request. Flowers for Ai Fiori indeed!

A beautiful evening, winter white style.
