Photographer Lindsey Belle caught our eye as we were checking out the Hunter Dixon ecommerce site. . . who took the amazing pictures for their campaigns? Sometimes a cold email sent through the hallowed halls of cyber space can work wonders. . . we googled Lindsey Belle, checked out her website, and sent her an email telling her we thought her photographs were dope.

Canada. . .Cornell University. . .a career in finance. . .and a conviction that the world was always clearest for her from behind a camera lens. She bought one during work one day and just started clicking. That's how dreams are born, really. Simply, and from the heart.

Lindsey wasn't interested in the "smile and say cheese" Kodak moment style. Be it a wedding, a birthday party - any event she's hired to capture - Lindsey's photographs are not frozen snapshots of time. . . there's something about them that's organic - a sound, a texture, a warmth and a humor that somehow gives them a life force that so many photographs fail to capture.

We can guess that moments after the photograph featuring this wedding party was taken, there was another one that presented them in a more, well, posed fashion. But oh, the inexplicable joy and laughter captured here resonates and speaks to us so much more. . .

She'll get in your face. She'll make you laugh. She'll snap you when you're ridiculous, momentarily lost or confused, absolutely bored, breathlessly happy, or just caught up in the rapture.

Lindsey Belle is looking when you're not, and that may make those insecure about being photographed "from their favorite angle" or only when they're all dolled up a little nervous, but for us it means beautiful pictures that spell. . . reality. We're so over Poser Style. Lindsey captures LIFE.
