Groundhog's Day. . .Punxsutawney Phil Style

We know you want to know. Did Phil see his shadow this morning? It is GROUNDHOG'S DAY, people. Here's what happened. . .

NO HE DID NOT!!!

If he HAD seen his shadow, according to the German folklore, winter would supposedly continue for six more weeks. Since he did not see his shadow, spring will supposedly come early. Here's what his official site has to say:

Punxsutawney Phil was raised from his burrow
By the call of President Bill Deeley.
He greeted his handlers, Ben Hughes and John Griffiths.

After casting an inquisitive eye towards thousands of his faithful followers,
He proclaimed that the Steelers are going to the Super Bowl!

Back to the business at hand...
He surveyed his surroundings carefully and found that there was no shadow around,
So, an early spring it will be.

We're not buying it. We're convinced this winter will never end. Ever.

Maybe a little too much beer at the Hofbräuhaus style. . .
