JBCStyle: Gossip Girl Style

Hey Fashion Insiders. Gossip Girl here. Looks like JBCStyle is the place to be these days. Sorry Upper East Siders, the party has moved to Bryant Park.

Spotted, CEO Bryan and VP Jen K with omg. . .Elise Overland. Do you die.

And who's that walking down the street with Bryan? Could that be Peter Davis, Paper Magazine's Editor at Large?

Bt dubs, is that Teen Vogue they're reading? Maybe a little Varsity Blues? How much do we love guys who dig a little Amy Astley style?

JBCStyle: Amy Lemons Style

For some of us 8th grade highlights include sneaking successfully into Pretty Woman and crooning to Sinhead O'Connor's Nothing Compares 2 U and Heart's All I Wanna Do Is Make Love To You pretty damn well in the shower.

Amy Lemons was on the cover of Vogue Italia.

We told you from day one JBCStyle is about InsiderStyle, and we only write about and feature the individuals, designers, and labels we genuinely love and admire. Today we celebrate Amy Lemons  - yeah, we're proud of her for an incredible career which has included magazine covers for Bazaar, Elle,Vogue, Marie Claire and more as well as ad campains for Calvin Klein, Burberry, J.Crew, Louis Vuitton, Michael Kors fragrance, Tommy Hilfiger and ah yes, that venerated little catalog our boyfriends steal - it's not a secret anymore, Victoria.

Before we tell you why we are really loving Amy today, let's give her career highlights a little whoop whoop style.

Not too shabby, Lemons. We caught up with Amy (she's back in NYC!) at the KiptonArt Presents the 20 Finalists for KiptonArt Rising 2011 at the Andrew Martin International showroom. We were psyched to see her rocking a Samantha Thavasa handbag - "I'm in love with this bag," Amy dished - if you missed it, check out our recent post on Samantha Thavasa designer Tinsley Mortimer. But that's still not the reason we think so highly of Amy.

The clip below embodies why we love Amy Lemons. In a career which doesn't often focus on the ability to speak and articulate one's opinion with clarity and conviction, Lemons dazzled on Ellen and with one simple statement managed to make our cultural obsessions with weight loss and achieving the "perfect body" seem. . .well, silly. Sometimes the most brilliant epiphanies are stated simply, with no affectation or alternative purpose. They're just true and real. Watch the clip below - you'll know what we mean the minute you hear it.

Love that. Here's to being a true vanguard, Amy.

"It's not all me," Amy shares, always happy to share credit. "I am just so happy right now at Ford. They have always supported me - personally and professionally. I cannot say enough about my agent Gary Gakin. For a model, being represented by a team who celebrates your individuality rather than dictating how you should conform to industry standards is not to be taken lightly. I am so very appreciative."

Lemons just finished a shoot for Glamour UK and we're looking forward to seeing her when we receive our Saks Holiday Book in the mail! What's Amy loving this fall? We had to ask. "Besides JBCStyle's InsiderStyle blog? Well, let's see," Amy laughs good-naturedly, then really focuses for a minute to edit down to just three picks. "Okay, this Fall I am absolutely obsessed with Sam Edelman's wedge booties. They're amazing. Just about everything Club Monaco is doing right now. Well priced, stylish, and a quick fix if you're on the run and need something perfect for just about any occasion. Finally, Levi's Curve jean is just an incredible fit. You have to try them."

Your style is just right, Lemons. Just like the porridge in The Three Bears.

Goldilocks style.

JBCStyle: Hunter Dixon Style

Hunter Dixon is a contemporary clothing line and a fashion fairy tale with a never ending series of happily ever afters. Southern belles Hunter Bell and Jennifer Dixon co-founded the label in 2009; the North and South Carolina natives sought to establish themselves with a collection that represented urban sophistication with a nod to Dixie elegance: "Southern women are bound by their unique heritage and lady-like charm. Our collection combines bright colors and ruffles with modern shapes and styles. There is a juxtaposition of color play and softness which reflects our Carolina roots, with black and geometric draping inspired by our lives in New York."

Jennifer Dixon arrives at JBCStyle's New York office in a canary yellow blouse and tells us with quiet pride that venture capitalist John Pound, President of Boston's Integrity Brands, recently became a minority shareholder along with other investors. But no champagne celebrations; after meeting with CEO Bryan Zaslow Jennifer returns to the Hunter Dixon office. There's work to be done. Orders have doubled.

Today the label is available in 100 boutiques worldwide and launched at Saks Fifth Avenue this past spring. It all began once upon a time, far far back in 2009. Retrospective style:

"I like nothing better than meeting the innovators behind the new and upcoming labels," Zaslow declares. "The smart, driven design teams who know what it means to build from the ground up. They'll have empires one day. And I'll staff them."

Empire in the southern sky style.

"Everything is made in New York City."

Photographer Lindsey Belle's photoshoot is a stunning gallery featuring some of their looks; below are two of our favorite shots. In keeping with the tale, even their photographer is a belle. . .with a fairy godmother's lens.

"Everything is made right here in New York," Jennifer affirms. "We're really excited about our blouse program. It's a versatile, year round piece that everyone needs, and we're debuting it in eight colors this fall." We ask if that fitted-to-perfection yellow number she's rocking is Hunter Dixon. "It is, and I'm the fit model so I know what women want - structured fit, yet still feminine." It might be the most perfect blouse we have ever seen. Oprah, InStyle, Lucky, Self, and People magazines all seem to agree and feature the blouses in current issues. For all the latest on the line visit their blog.

Oprah Magazine
WWD named Hunter Dixon amongst its fabled few "Ones to Watch" from Coterie Spring 2011, and Carmen Electra, Rachel Zoe, Lindsay Lohan, Lake Bell, Marisa Miller, Sophia Bush and Jamie Lynn-Siglar have all been spotted wearing the label around town.

Daily Candy announced the best news to date this summer: Hunter Dixon's e-commerce site! Yes, the gorgeous pieces are available (from your computer when your boss isn't looking style) on a site which includes a customer account page and pieces designed exclusively for online shoppers.

And just cause it's Monday we're gonna make like Heinz ketchup and leave you with a little candy of our own: a gift from Hunter Bell and Jennifer Dixon exclusively for our JBCStyle readers.

Good things come to those who wait style.

JBCStyle: Elie Tahari Style

The question isn't who is going to let me; it's who's going to stop me?"
Ayn Rand

A 25 year old immigrant opens a store in New York's Greenwich village. Israel, in all its fragility and energy, is a place he will return to one day. On his own terms. For now, he has a plan. . .

He's going to sell tube tops to girls who want to look sexy in the nightclubs, and he's going to finance the tops by screwing in lightbulbs in the garment district by day. There are going to be nights he sleeps on a park bench in Central Park, but he grew up in an orphanage and clocked in many hours (and nights) on the streets of Tel Aviv. A bench for a bed is, literally, a walk in the park. He will own a fashion empire worth $500 million dollars.

Welcome to America, Elie Tahari dreams style.

Elie found that niche between Gap and Armani and hit it hard: modern, clean, sophisticated clothing. He viewed celebrity endorsements as distracting; Elie firmly believes that his line must be solely about the clothes. Last evening Tahari celebrated the opening of The Elie Tahari boutique in Saks Fifth Avenue with Ronald L. Frasch, the department store's President and Chief Merchandising Officer.

JBCStyle: Frederic Malle Carnal Flower Style

Little red. . . well we don't know what they were exactly, but they looked cool and we're always down for a little Barney's window shopping style. Okay it's us, who are we kidding.

Obviously we had to go inside.

Frederic Malle's perfumes and body lotions are exquisite. Knock-your-socks and get your nose off style. Carnal Flower and Rose upon immediate sniff will replace whatever fragrance you have been loyal to - currently or all of your life. Yes, that's a bold statement, and not said lightly.

The red pellet like objects? A chic new candle line with no labels; perfect for arranging in rows for a splash of color and an infusion of heavenly scent in your home.

Here is Frederic Malle himself, delivering one of the best lessons on perfumery and the art of fragrance:

We always love Barney's, but the Frederic Malle flagship store on Madison is a beautiful salon to visit if you have the time.

We were going to wait till we got home to light it up. . .but JBC already feels like home. Come visit if you don't believe us - you'll never want to leave.

JBCStyle: Juicy Couture Style

When designer darling Erin Fetherston wore floor length velour Juicy Couture to the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Spring 2010 Costume Institute Benefit Gala (hosted by GAP, Conde Nast, Patrick Robinson, Anna Wintour, and Oprah Winfrey as long as we're major name dropping style) we just had to ask one question.

Erin Fetherston with Bergdorf Goodman's Linda Fargo
Did the gown say Juicy across the butt?

Just kidding style. . . we love you for real, Pamela and Gela. . .you should wear fur and drink champagne in bed. The Juicy tracksuit is already a fashion icon.

We were dying to know Erin's involvement with the brand, and thank goodness for WWD, the magic 8-Ball of Fashion:

Erin Fetherston, a favorite designer of actresses such as Kirsten Dunst, Zooey Deschanel, Anne Hathaway, Winona Ryder and Cameron Diaz, has been tapped as guest designer and creative consultant at Juicy. . .
Women's Wear Daily

Here's a look at Erin from Fashion's Night Out at the Juicy store as she announces her new position:

One look at Juicy Couture's 2011 Collection and there's no sign of a track or a suit. . . or at least we can't see them because we're absolutely dazzled by the 1930s looks Fetherston has infused into the line. Champagne gowns and draped skirts with Erin's signature art deco flair. There's no doubt she's going to do what Jimmy Choo did for Uggs. And then some.

This has always been a fearless, irreverant brand and Juicy girls have always known how to bring all the boys to the yard.

The JBCStyle team already has their jazz hands out for Erin's holiday looks, but for now as we fall into cooler weather we love Juicy for its ripe price points and new, grownup edge.

This is not your mama's boot. . .

Or your daddy's hat. . .

Juicy is all grown up, Corinthians 13:11 style.

Look it up, Google style.
